Wingspan Arts provides arts education programming to K-12 students in the New York City metro area. Founded in 2001 in response to the lack of arts instruction in public schools, Wingspan Arts began in one classroom, and has expanded to more than 30 in-school and afterschool programs in 26 schools. This year, we’re excited to celebrate 15 years of Wingspan Arts programming.
We provide a direct experience in the arts to over 5,000 children each year and employ over 200 teaching artists who have been recognized for their professional achievements. Through our afterschool, in-school and summer programs, young people gain a better understanding of a complicated, changing world as they study, learn to perform, and express their feelings through the arts. This helps fulfill our mission of connecting students to the arts, and the arts to life.
